Reading "Thank You Mr. Falker"

Last week in reading we read "Thank You, Mr. Falker" and began our work around our Quarter 1 reading standards.

We practiced understanding the difference between the terms "imply" (something the author/speaker does), and "infer" (what the reader/listener does). 

We also studied images in the text, inferred information from the pictures and discussed how the images help contribute to our understanding of the text.

Finally, we learned about some "Essential Questions" we will discuss often throughout the 1st Quarter and discussed the answers to those questions. 





We have also been working on our independent reading time, choosing good books, staying focused and engaged, and tracking our reading using our reading logs.
