Reading

This week in reading we continued work on inferring, but also added the idea of explicit information.
We read the book Smoky Night by Eve Bunting. Here is a link to the story.

We used the story to infer about what was happening to the characters.

Ask your child what they might have inferred from this page. One of the fifth grade reading standards is that students can infer information from the text, but also to quote accurately from the text to support their inferences. 

We also used the book to work on Explicit information.
